My First Internship Interview

The moment I heard that a multinational company was coming to our campus, my heart skipped a beat.
It was not just another interview, it was my first real step toward my corporate career.
The first company to visit ISB&M Bangalore for summer placements was InBody. When I saw the role Digital Marketing Intern, I knew I had to apply. I have always been interested in digital marketing, so I had already taken online courses on SEO, social media marketing, content strategy, and digital advertising to build a basic foundation.
Still, as the interview day approached, nervousness took over. It was my first corporate interview, and being the first company on campus added extra pressure. I kept questioning myself Would I perform well? Would I get selected?
What truly helped me was the support from seniors at ISB&M. They conducted mock interviews that transformed my preparation. In my first mock session, I spoke too fast and lacked structure. With their guidance, I learned how to introduce myself confidently, maintain eye contact, and answer questions clearly and logically. Those sessions gradually replaced fear with confidence.
On the day of the interview, I revised digital marketing concepts and researched InBody’s products and global presence. When I entered the room, I took a deep breath and trusted my preparation.
The interviewer asked why I chose digital marketing. I explained that it allows brands to connect directly with customers and that I wanted to understand real-world digital strategies. I also discussed SEO basics, social media engagement, and the importance of content in brand visibility. Some questions were situational, testing my thinking ability. As the discussion progressed, I became more comfortable and confident.
After the interview, I replayed every answer in my mind. Then came the news I was selected as a Digital Marketing Intern at InBody.
The joy and relief I felt were unforgettable. That moment taught me a powerful lesson: preparation builds confidence, and confidence overcomes fear.
Being selected in the first company boosted my self-belief and proved that hard work truly pays off. As I begin this journey, I look forward to gaining practical experience, working on real projects, and continuously improving my skills.
What began with anxiety ended as one of the most defining moments of my PGDM journey.
This experience didn’t just give me an internship, it gave me confidence in myself.
