What is PGDM?
PGDM stands for Post Graduate Diploma in Management. It is a diploma course offered by autonomous institutes (not affiliated with any university). It is Industry-oriented practical knowledge tends to be the primary focus. The curriculum changes rapidly depending on the industrial requirements.

Qualification Type:
MBA: It is a degree program typically awarded by universities.
PGDM: It is a diploma program offered by autonomous institutions that are not affiliated with universities.
Affiliation and Accreditation:

PGDM: Accredited by various national and international bodies but the diploma might not be as universally recognized as a degree. The recognition can depend heavily on the reputation of the issuing institution.

PGDM: Typically a 2-year program, though some institutions offer shorter versions, especially in executive or part-time formats.

MBA: Can be less expensive, particularly at well-known or prestigious universities.
PGDM: Often priced higher compared to many MBA programs, though costs can vary based on the institution.
Further study like PhD:
MBA: An MBA can easily pursue PhD .
PGDM: A PGDM should complete his PGDM from AIU affiliated university.
Focus and Practicality:
MBA: Typically provides a comprehensive business education with a balance of theoretical and practical learning. It often includes case studies, group projects, and internships.
PGDM: Usually has a strong focus on practical, hands-on learning with a curriculum designed to address current business needs. It often emphasizes industry connections, internships, and live projects.
